Atomic bombing of Hiroshima 60 years..

Just watched the documentary of the historic atomic bombing of Hiroshima commemorate the 60th anniversary of the bombing.. Must say tat it is really a spectacular docu with all its realistic special effects.. Must say it's very saddening so many died but I guess tat's the price Japan had to pay for all the suffering they brought.. And to tink tat it cld be avoided since Japan was actually requested for unconditional surrender before Little Boy was dropped on Hiro..
Some interesting facts:
1) The bomb took 50 seconds to touchdown. The crew of the Enola Gay (the name of the B-29 who dropped Little Boy) must be counting down like mad.
2) Temperatures at the epicentre was 4000 degrees! Shadows cast by objects were PERMANENTLY burned on the ground.
3) Heat was strong enuf tat some survivors had their clothes burned/melted into their skin.
4) The bomb was MANUALLY assembled by hand on board the plane. Any mistakes cld result in a mushroom cloud in the sky.
As a typical fun-loving guy who plays lots of war games, it shocked me as to how so many strategy portrays A-bombs and nukes. I guess I won't view a nuke in tose Red Alert and Starcraft days the same again..

btw it's like 43 seconds, the bomb start to have reaction and then the uranium become some stupid big explosion that vaporise ppl in the path OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In simple words, a little explosion in the bomb causes the 2 uranium cores to hit each other.. Then all the scientific stuff happens and then KABBBOOOOOOOM.. Nuclear fission!

On 6th August 1945, at 8:16 a.m. Japanese time, an American B-29 bomber, the Enola Gay, drops the world's first atom bomb nicknamed 'Little Boy', over the city of Hiroshima. Approximately 80,000 people are killed as a direct result of the blast, and another 35,000 are injured. At least another 60,000 would be dead by the end of the year from the effects of the fallout.
Three days later in Nagasaki, "Fat Boy" became the second. The vast destruction wrought by these two bombs led the Japanese to surrender on 14 August 1945, thus ending the Second World War. -

the bomb was used because the western allies anticipate that after Hilter and japan, they have to fight the russians (communists) next....
they are actually right....
So they drop the first bomb to show the "reds" what they can do and warn off any future conforntation.
They drop the 2nd bomb so close to the first to demonstrate to the reds that they can "repeat" the nuclear bomb.
Actually it is a "act", becaue a 3rd bomb will take a very long time to assemble, at that time, theyonly have time and resource to assemble two bombs.
If the US is serious about "forcing" the Japanese to "surrender", they would have given them more "time" to think it through after the first bomb... why drop the 2nd one so soon.... the Nagasaki bomb is unnecessary... the people died there really died in vain, i feel. -
