RSAF F16s which Blocks

  Hi All,
  
  the RSAF operate so many different "blocks" of F16s. The latest is the Blk 52+ with the CFTs. And prior to that we have the Blk 50 with the "spine". And in the US, we operate Blk 40/42 F16s.
  
  And I guess locally, there should be other F16s as well, Blk 30s?? Blk 40s?? I wonder whether it is a logistial nightmare or not? or is the different "blocks" similar?
  
  Do they use the same engine?
  
  Probably that is why we gave away 7 of our earlier As and Bs... to streamline the fleet....
  
  Any comments on this?

  I think only two blks, Blk 52 and Blk52+ left , no other version.

  we only operate 52s and 52+. the difference (of 10) between blocks usually means that there is a difference in avionics. whereas for the F-16, the differences of 2 signifies different powerplants. those ending with 0 are powered by the F110-GE-129, and those ending with 2 are powered by the F100-PW-229

  i have no idea. maybe SIA uses mainly PW engines at that time (our 747s) hence RSAF also choose >.<

  They did... those are Blk 15s F16s, much more different from our 52 and 52+.
  
  The RTAF will value them more since they operate Blk 15 and ex-ADF (similar to Blk15) F16s.

  I remem reading somewhere that one F16 sqn was sent back to Sg from US. Leaving only 1 sqn in US for training. can anyone confirm?

  This is confirmed. I think it was in ST or something. Because of the US base closures... so the no. of F16 detachments reduced to 1. Which i think make sense. what is the pt of hving two detachments.... waste money.
  
  But i sensed that maybe paving the way for a F15T detachment...

  I think so too. I wonder who will our F-15T pilots train with? Definitely not their ANG troops since their Strike Eagles are all active.

  yeah...its Cannon AFB that got closed.
  
  but hey, Luke AFB (that we're using) is one of the largest F-16 bases the americans have..
