Sometimes I wonder why the PLA has decided to adopt not ONE, but TWO types of camoflage patterns so similar to the Americans. Not forgetting to mention the US-type helmet.
No wonder the Americans have changed their Desert Camo and I think also their woodland BDU is on its way out. -

Yet another type of PLA camo. Looks like WW2 German Waffen. They are carrying the weapon that replaced the AK47/AKM in the whole PLA. It has a longer barrel, among other things, designed to improve accuracy as they found the AKM too inaccurate.

Here's the latest Type 99 MBT. Most of their MBT have a turret-mounted anti-aircraft laser gun that is used for blinding enemy aircraft pilots.

This again, is quite new. 2 pistols, one in 9mm, another in 5.8mm. You can tell from the markings on the receiver. See the 2 types of ammo? The round nose is the 9mm and nasty little sharp ones must be the 5.8mm. Probably same bullet as the AR but in a pistol cartridge. Looks like following closely on the footstep of the FN 5.7mm pistol. Armour piercing capability.
Seen in use by these 2 cowboys here. Chinese police not known for subtlety...

3 Chinese weapons made after the AK47/AKM was dropped. The one on top is in the soviet 7.62x39mm while the other 2 are in the new 5.8mm. The top weapon is still in widespread use. The modern-looking AK in the middle was never adopted. The bullpup below is what they are all switching to.

I've seen quite a few pics of their SWAT or Spec Ops with crossbows. This is a mid-sized one. They use an even larger version also.

The Type 96 is an older design and has this horizontal bar across the fron part of the hull. (This bar helps to block water from washing into the driver's hatch when the tank is swimming in water.)
The tank I posted as the Type 99 has a V-shaped bar for deflecting water. In fact, if you look closely at the following pics of the Type 98 without the add-on armour, you can see that the tracks, hull of the Type 98 and the Type 99 I posted, are almost identical. Here are 2 pics of Type 98 without add-on armour where you can clearly see the V-shape:
The Type 99 picture I posted is from another Chinese military website and so far, most of their identification has been accurate. -

I think I also made a mistake, actually, the one you posted is not Type96(88C) as well. I think it's Russian T72:
So far I know only sinodefense still define the New" Type99" as 98G. all other sources now used to call it" ZTZ99", while the one in the follow on pictures you posted "type98"
The differences between T99 and T98 is the V-shaped front turret of T99. Also, the engine of T99 is upgraded to1500hp from T98's 1200 hp.
However, all the "New age" Chinese MBTs including T96/T98/T99 all have a more" box" shaped turret insteady of round shaped. I think that's more identical -
By the way, are those US-Army style helmet wore by the PLA troops Kelver Helmet? Or they simple a knock off?
