There's something like that on the nose of the Apache , but its suppose to track and aim targets depending on the kind of configuration our stupid "Mindef" bought them for.
Its also otherwise known as the "Minigun (gatling)", Very damaging against soft skin targets , as shown in video. Does little against tank armor But enough to make the tank team take cover for a while.
Our reservist aims not to carry what is unnecessary and maintain otherwise difficult to maintain equipment . We dont even appreciate them making us stay longer than it should to clean arms we didnt even use or fire any shots. -
The Apache's gun can also be effective against armour... it can hit the target tank at the top or at the rear.....

imagine this bespectacled(thick rimmed) fellow carrying the ammo and the gun itself snooping around for enemies and fring it while getting blasted back by the recoil at the same time -
But if the unlucky Copter meets this land-based Gatling Gunshield?
