Just hot news from Channel News Asia,terrorist group linked to Al Qaeda has claimed responsibility for the explosion in London's tube causing 2 killed and many injured.
This time dua ki liaoz...wonder tml our MRT stations and bus interchanges will have alot of Police SOC or normal patrol officers on guard.Not to mention,I think our guys from 6SIR (Installation Protection) and many other units will be on alert.
Here's the million dollar question...will we be able to survive the aftershock of such an attack on the nation? -

ATK Scorpion II Will Be a Transportable High-powered Microwave System
Minneapolis, June 17, 2005 – Alliant Techsystems (NYSE: ATK) has received a $1.5 million contract from the U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) to build and test the Scorpion II Demonstration System, a transportable high-powered microwave system capable of disabling a wide variety of improvised explosive devices (IEDs).
Under terms of the contract, the AFRLÂ’s Directed Energy Directorate, High Power Microwave Division will work closely with ATK to develop the system.
In previous tests with Scorpion I, ATK and the AFRL built, tested and fielded a high-powered microwave system that pre-detonated a wide variety of IEDs it encountered in realistic test scenarios, based on U.S. experience in Iraq. The AFRL specifically cited the team’s “superb ingenuity” that led to a first-ever high-power microwave system that was ruggedized for transport. According to the AFRL, Scorpion I demonstrated “the best result to be achieved by any system to date.”
ATKÂ’s Scorpion II is a rapid development program, reflecting the Department of DefenseÂ’s desire to develop force protection systems that can be deployed and used in the global war on terror.

Theory 1 is highly unlikely. After all, London was announced as the winner just one day before the bombings. For the terrorists to plan, build and plant the bombs in a matter of hours is highly unlikely..... after all, meticulous planning is the hallmark of Al Qaeda. More likely they were planning to disrupt the G8 summit in Scotland. The IOC decision was just a coincidence. This makes Theory 2 far more likely. After all, the Brits have always been seen as the main 'partner-in-crime' with the Yanks. -

Possibility: All cities concerned in the IOC could have been rigged long ago. They MAY be trying to blow whichever city that the IOC decides on. And when such an incident occurs, they may decide to change the venue, and when they decide on another, the group blows it there too.
Sounds far fetched huh?
Its too coincidental for London to be hit just as the IOC announces their decision. It probably means all this was planned for maximum "exposure." So there IS a possibility that all the countries involved in the IOC, had their respective cities targetted. -
for our case the issue is not whether we get hit or not but how massive the attack is.
it can never be fully prevented but we must keep the impact to its minimum when it happens. -

2--Madrid? Better than Moscow but almost same problem as Moscow
3--New York? The US host Alanta Olympics in 1996,unlikely to give US the right again given such short interval...
