RSAF's choice on F-16 powerplant

Does anyone know why the RSAF chose their F-16s to be powered by the F100-PW-229?
The other powerplant choice would be the F110-GE-129, which:
"The GE F110 provides 5,000 lbf (22 kN) more thrust than the P&W F100"
"While early problems have been solved the engine still has a reputation of being "temperamental." " (referring to the F100)
both quotes are from wiki, it would be good if people could confirm these.
given so, what reasons would have caused the RSAF to choose the F100 over the F110? price? -
My first thot is that when the RSAF first buy F16s, there is only F100 available... remember the GE engine is only available during the Blk 30/32 era......
After we have the F100 engine then no sense having two engine...
anyone can verify the above?
Seems that GE is better, I heard that it is also lighter so the power/wt ratio is far superior. -
I think mainly because it's for logistic reason, No need to keep 2 type of Engine.
However, if we know the F15T going to standout beforehand, maybe the F110 will be the better choice. Because no matter how, now RSAF is going to maintain 2 type of engine anyway and F110 got more thrust than F100. -
Hmm I don't remember much difference between the thrust of the PW229 and the GE-129. Just that it was possible to do some thrust vectoring modification to the GE-129 and not to the PW229.

Very simple, IMO , F110 technically is more advance than F100 series. though both are derived from core Engine CFM56.
F110 series got less oil comsuption, more thrust, higher TIT temperature(1750K !) but of course, heavier -

i suppose there has to be some sort of environmental regulation system in the cockpit, hence there should be air conditioning... -

Well, when you think about it, it only makes sense to have an aircon in the cockpit.
After all, the cockpit is airtight... no way is the pilot going to feel the rush of supersonic winds in his hair. Not to mention the amount of heat generated by the friction between the plane and the air at high speeds... it gets really hot.
The last thing we want is to have a pilot knocked out in his cockpit due to heatstroke. -
the so-called "aircon" on the F-16 is called the ECS (Environmental Control System). Primary function to provide cooling air to cool the on-board avionics, cooling the pilot is secondary. In fact it works too well in our humid climate, in the early days of our Block 52s, water collects under the ejection seat from all the condensation, after every flight we had to pump out the water, else the water either shorts out the comms matrix located under the seat or on the next sortie the pilot will get a wet surprise if he does a barrel roll.

A very slow and straight barrel roll to boot.
Basically the ECS just maintains the cockpit temperature at a certain level right? Not really like an aircon...
