SAF's new self-propelled AA missile system

was at the NDP rehearsal yesterday afternoon, among the mobile column were 2 AA missile systems mounted on M113. one with 4 missiles but doesn't seem to have a radar. another one with a radar (?) similar to that of a rapier system, and 2 missiles mounted on each side of the radar. anyone has any idea what is this system?
i don't think it is the rapier as the missiles are enclosed in lunch tubes. the missiles also don't look like mistral, as they are much longer. anyone can enlighten? -

I heard they were developing tracked SP SAM system in the late 90s which I feel that they greatly are needed, with the proliferation of attack helo and CAS a/c.
The V-200 RBS-70 SAM with detached radar supporting seem limited . -

The launchers at the side do not look like the those for VT-1.
In fact ,I think it is the Igla , we have bought a number if Igla DJIGIT twin launchers from Russian. It could be our own modifcation of the original Russian twin launcher, long length with small diameter tubes.
Another thing the size of the VT-1 launcher look much bigger than the one on our M113, but the size does correspond to that of the Igla.
So with two twin Igla twin launchers at the side of the "dustbin" which I believe housed the radar and other FCS.

IMHO our M113 SP SAM should be fitted with MISTRAL missiles -- same as for our Naval Remote Weapon System .
Should be operational.
Anyway , we should soon know offically what type of missile soon .

Finally it is revealed! I have seen it back in 2002 or 2003. If i didn't remembered wrongly, it should look like a Rapier system mounted on a M113 chasis just that have 4 missiles on each side of the launcher. When i seen it,it was transported along with another vehicle on a low-loader. Hopefully some of the forum members can take some photos during this year's NDP to verify my description.

Some capabilites of the Igla. Not sure whether its the same version as those purchased by the SAF. -
If it is the SA-18, then it is better than the one we have.
The one we have is the export version Igla-1(SA-16) , whereas Igla (SA-18 ) is I think still not been exported to any non east european countries.
But the report I think have some mistake, Igla-1 (SA-16) is the export version which SG has bought and licensed produced as well is the version that have performed well in conflicts,not the Russian version SA-18 Igla.
Igla-1 is reported to have shoot down a number low flying AV-8s as well as against helicopters, thus you could say it is combat proven.
But in term of capability, our best VSHORADS is the Mistral(PK of 92%), next is the LBR RBS-70 and lastly of course is the Igla.
But the cost of Mistral and RBS-70s are few times more than the Igla, and the fact that we are licensed producing them( maybe even improved on it), it cost even cheaper.
And the fact it is combat proven against low flying CAS a/c and helicopters, it is a very cost effective weapon to have in abundant in the role it's play in supporting ground troops against targets that I have mentioned.

Saw this when i was at Lakeside MRT Station on Thursday
The truck was transporting the M113, but without the radar or the missile tubes.
But u can clearly see the rack on which the tubes and radar sit on. -
Will they be using our VF-1Js to fly by this year? Maybe fly into stadium and land in gerwalk mode... sure please the crowd!

Call me paranoid, but I see the images on Alert5 as sensitive. Most are fine, given the logic that at City Hall everyone will be able to see it, however the one with the rear hatch open is not.

If that is the case - why bother to put the vehicle on public display in the first place. Actually it was facing Mac Donalds restaurant. Anyone sitting in there can have a view of its internal. If its secretive, they should have taken more precautions.

ADMS - Air Defense Mobile System

ADMS fires VSHORAD missiles. C4I techniques and automatic target engagement facilities enable fast reaction and full utilization of the missile potential performance. The system provides day, night and adverse weather defense against fixed wing and rotary wing air targets.Installed on Armored Personnel Carrier (APC) chassis, ADMS features all-terrain mobility.
ADMS also supports mission planning, battle debriefing, and training.
ADMS battery consists of a Surveillance and Command Unit (SCU) and several Missile Launching Units (MLU).
The number of MLUs in each battery is determined by the user.
The SCU detects and classifies the targets using a surveillance radar and an IFF system, and generates an Air Situation Picture (ASP). A battle management system designates targets to the MLUs, and automatically transmits the ASP and C2 data to the MLUs through a data communication network.
The MLUs acquire the targets using an electro-optical day/night sight system. Target acquisition is initiated by an automatic auto-slewing process. Each MLU carries four ready-to-fire missiles mounted on a lightweight overhead weapon station.
The MLU is designed to optimally operate in battery formation. It also features an excellent stand-alone, autonomous operation capability, where target search and detection are performed only with the sight system, without cueing from the SCU.
