+1 fully agree. It is sad. It might be too late by the time the next generation realizes the folly of our ways.
I think I did share my view of what will happen to Singapore in 30 years time in a previous post, and its very bleak for me. People who become unemployed at the ripe 'old' age of 40, wiping out whatever savings they have, and becoming unable to clear their high debt. That will soon become a fact, if we continue to accept immigrants to compete at every single segment of the jobs market.
The consequences of the current short-term policies to our society will manifest then, but for now, it's all wine and dine for the PAP
sucess is through sheer hardwork had nothing to do with luck
you are lucky, when you strike toto first prize few million to 10 million - this is really called luck
whining is better than bottling it inside
cos it affect a person health
it is illegal to protest here
The Key word is to vote wisely!

I liken it to become a paradise though..... a paradise for the rich. Since the tax rate is relatively low for the super income (not just wage all sources...capital gains.... rental ... investments) earners.
The immigrants/general public are just there to provide quality service at a cheap price is all.
Much akin to Indonesia ... Rich super rich... poor well quite poor.
What do u think?

when one reach the age of 40, he or she would recieve ELDERLY SHIELD

Yes, interesting you brought up Indonesia as a comparison. It seems we are moving the opposite direction (income inequality) when all countries are trying to move toward more equality.
One more thing, focusing too much on cost kills innovation. By focusing only on getting the cheapest labour, businesses in Singapore are immature and are only focusing on short-term. A reason why we do not have many brands in the global market.

I can't comment on that lol... I am not that well read. But i do believe we are focusing on getting cheap labour.... well sg's immigration policies certainly led to that result.

Yup thats exactly my picture for SG in time if it continues.
It will be the heaven for the affluent ONLY, not unlike a mega luxury hotel where the rich come and enjoy and do business then pat pat backside go home, while the people (Singaporeans) provide the manpower to run this hotel cheaply so that the management (govt) earn big bucks.
I dont want to be part of this future
