I suppose HDB owners are lease holders, right or not?
There is those condo under 'capital land..." something like that...that stated 99 yr lease. That means same as hdb 99 yr lease?

Even the land deed/cert also say 'owners' if you have one, you may check it out.
that one make you happy only mah, imagine there is clause saying that they can take back the flat if the occupants/leasees had misused the flat for any illegal business etc etc under the laws of singapore.
For us, freehold, if we use it to do illegal stuff, they cannot take our house away, the most they can do is ask us to sell it.

Actually, if people can afford I usually advise them to buy private property. Too many restrictions set by HDB. What I don't like about HDB is, any ah tee ah kow will come knock on doors, letterboxes full of junk mail
Majority of the locals live in hdb.
Not all can afford to live in landed property.

I notice many of those working for govt directly or indirectly are not well trained. Eg, HDB, NTUC, Singtel
In future, hdb will built underground.

99 yr, within 99 yr , we are owners.
I have a question out of curiosity cuz I lost touch with PAP super policies .Assuming you stay in an old flat for 30 over years and the garmen want you to relocate......you like the neigborhood so much (your reason for staying there over 30 years) but garmen is making you a deal you cant refused because Godfather Lee said so...you end up owning a bigger flat not far from your old place but will you get a new lease of 99 years? Or will you get only 60 over years ?

you mean you also die in the same place?

How about a 'Floating City on a giant pontoon off sister's island? Where the rich can migrate instead of going to Australia.LOL

you get the full life of the new flat - 99 years
this is because it is not a one for one exchange between your old flat and your new flat
you have to sell your old flat back to hdb. the price is decided by a valuer assigned by hdb (no COV/premium here)
then you buy the new flat from hdb
since you paid the full price for the new flat, you get the full 99 years

It is not the problem of these people, it is the problem of the places they work with. The companies do not provide sufficient training or no training at all.

how can it be a Win Win....given that fact that the new flat you have to pay more?
either way you Pay.. stay you pay for upgrade move you pay more for new flat. Am I right? What if you finally starting to have positive saving in your CPF?

from a money prespective, depends on whether you benefit from selling your old flat to hdb, and how much you have to pay to get the new flat. After all the transactions, do you have more or less money?
