Import more from China, Philippines, Indonesia and India.
So presumably the new 1-2 million immigrants are in their 30s to 40s. In another 20 to 30 years, they will be in their 50s and 60s, then what import another 2-4 million from third world countries.
The heart of the problem lies with their policies, yet they find external sources of solution for this simple problem.
Very soon, Singapore will have a population of 10 million.

How can normal new couples even afford having babies?Friend, they can have babies still. Your China immigrants will show you how. Just need to learn from them I guess. Gotta stay competitive in these "turbulent" times.
Either that or ship out. Your govt will ship in more immigrants. I believe the queue should be long.
Personally I think Singapore should have more immigrants to keep costs low so tourists will see it as a viable holiday destination.

They will. After awhile when they realise that they can't do much about it there really is only 2 options.Ship out or co-exist with your immigrants albeit lowering their perceived standard or lifestyle.
Well there is a third option and that is voting against your government in the hopes that the new government would change or abolish certain policies.
But seriously the odds I would say are stacked against them on that. I for one do not think your government will be unseated anytime soon.

True, the next generations of pple need to have at least a degree. If you are unable to get a normal degree, you will have hard time living in spore and your salary will be very low and hardly able to save. -
