Bus svcs there: 3 ,43, 62, 82, 83 ,85, 136
Total number of bus svc: 7
The fastest bus svc out to other areas Aljunied/Paya Lebar sv62 and frequency OFF peak is 18mins! wait till can die!
I think it is 581, not 569
Add on...
those MPs that have wet markets are goin to be Sheng Siongnised, NTUCnised, ShopNSavenised! My god wat is SG coming to!?
Reporeted on 5/10/2009, we have a certain minister at a certain ward event [Near Yishun] saying that whether wet markets to be sold will be due to demand n supply[Lianhe Zaobao] while our dear Straits Times states that the particular minister will do all it can to fight for the wet markets survival!
SO who is correct?! oh my god
At this rate of urbanising, soon we will have no HISTORY left and we will be completely sanitised!
Furthermore has the welfare of our fellow SGreans been taken of?Robbing the livelihoods and selling to conglomerates!
HK, Paris, London,Venice, Tokyo, Osaka [which i have been to] has their version of wet markets[open air, NO AIR CON] which are alive and thriving bus SG wants to be clean out everything...
ha ha ha LHL and Yeo CT. hopeless.
True. Ah Long and Ah Tong also the ones.
The wet market will move on as expected.
The most the MP can do is to delay SS from chasing the tenants and give them more time to get a new place which is no where else.
As for who cannot make it, there are a lot of them under the shadow of the 2nd generation team.
The point is the 3rd and 4th generation are selected accordance to their paper, polishing and obedience skills.
So, the expectations that you have imposed on them is unfair as they have pledged loyalty to their grand master instead of "making it".
"Making it" was never part of the job requirement.
The ability to organise meaningless events and to groom the "loyalty" team from the "new citizens" are the requirements.
maybe it's more profitable to collect rental from these big supermarts?

When they started pricing everything - shop premise, wet market outlet, kiok according to market price thru' public tender, something has to give, sooner or later. The ultimate giver will be the smaller less profitable mom-and-pop shop, outlet or kiok.
Hordes of them u knw. We have a lot of idiots actually.

Everything always seems nice before elections.
After elections, it's a whole new ball game.
Standard practice.
Lee Bee Wah, Wong Kan Seng, Khaw Boon Wan and Marlboro Tan.

Khaw is nice and efficient as a MP. But his role as Minister of Health I may not want to say the same.
The Hen for mimicking LKY al the time.....

Even the Son doesn't mimic LKY like the way the Hen mimics LKY... this a man with no originality.

My friend's auntie had problems placing the handicap sis in the nursing home and went to khaw for help. He immediately got his assistant to type the letter and gave to her on the spot. With that letter the staff in that nursing home gave no more excuse for admitting the sister. Besides, this I heard a number of good feedback about him from residents in his constituency.
But where healthcare is concerned, it is not the case.

Yes, you have a point. I have respect for him if he continues to be a surgeon in the hospital and not a politician.
I wonder did anyone here watch the CNA doc on his day at work. After I saw that I was so disappointed with him. The way he portrayed himself is like I just do the work according to what I am paid, no passion for public service. I used to think very well of him, after the CNA show not any more.

Healthcare is expensive compared to Hong Kong, services provided aren't that great. They have a shortage of hospital beds, so typically they rush to discharge you if you are one of those C ward patients. Waiting times for some specialist clinics can be up to 3 months (almost comparable to UK's NHS, but then again NHS is free, so anything is free you can't complain).
Then he tries to suck more money from B class patients and above by coming up with means testing.

He is practising double standard where healthcare is concerned. Would like patients whether they are able to pay or not to receive treatment and on the other hand he is pushing the doctors to make more profits. Thus drs have to minimise going for subsidised patients and trying to take in more private patients.
I was in the hospital and know how rush they can be to get doctors to discharge patients asap. This happens too many times. I mean if there are always shortage of hospital beds they could just do something to expand to accommodate more beds.
Besides the charges in public hospitals are super high. My sis in law gave up on going to KKH for consultation. She used to pay $80 for consultation and the waiting time was very long. Now she goes to private hospital and pays only $12, waiting time is much shorter. I don't understand the vast difference in the charges for the consultation.
What irked me was where he let the public knew about his monetary sacrifice in order to enter public service.
In any case, his private practice was making obscene profit. These ppl should get the concept right first - doctor is healer first, never a greedy profiteer ever be into the picture.
