If you read through the article, it says " The bans to prevent jurors to be affected while the trial of a murder case is in progress"
Unlike media censorship in singapore, the ban is not permanent, it is just to prevent jurors being affected.
I have been living in singapore for nearly 6 years and it is my opinion that singapore's media is not only heavily censored by the government, it is actually a tool used to spread the government propaganda

I don't know about you, but the first thing most normal people do when they see their "hacked" old account posting on sgforums they will not start replying to it and agreeing with it and then suddenly go "oh no!" when they are caught sockpuppeting with their pants down and ask for help from intelligence agencies.
LOL, want to make up story also make up a feasible one lah.

Deception
Use of a SockPuppet is typically frowned on. The social convention against sock puppets arises from the RealWorld. Uses
By using several Sock Puppets all posting in favour of an idea, a dishonest person can give the impression that the idea has more grass-roots support than it really has. See also StuffingTheBallotBox, which is a similar problem in a more formal, voting context. Sock puppets make it harder to enforce "one man, one vote."
Sock puppet identities are disruptive in conversation because they are often used so that a person can ask questions of himself and appear to be carrying on a thread between two individuals.
