Please also take note aborigines have no rights, in their own country, and they are mostly uneducated and poor.Originally posted by laurence82:The Scottish are aborigines of Scotland, so are Malays here
The Constitution of Singapore states otherwise. So therefore you have to respect the constitution.Originally posted by t_a_s:dont any how say, malay is not aborigines, orang asli is the aborigines, the malays are thick skin claiming they are aborigines because only they came to masia earlier than the chinese and indians. There is alot of politics involved in this. As usual, Lionnoisy did the cut and paste program again without looking at the big picture.Originally posted by aeris:Fallout already started lah. PM Rudd says he's disgusted and appalled. Qld AG has met the DPP to see if they can still appeal. Under Qld law, child under 12 cannot give consent to sexual intercourse. The four juveniles are aged 14 to 16 years. They and the adults come from some of the most prominent and powerful Aboriginal families on Cape York. .....Above was taken out of the report.
The child victim, now aged 12, does not enjoy the elevated family status of her attackers, and has had to be removed from Aurukun and put with foster parents.
News of the non-custodial sentences has added to the violent hatreds that exist in Aurukun between families and tribes and which have played a part in recent brawls involving dozens of assailants, many armed with sticks and spears.
they AREN'T!Didn't u watch Pirates of the Caribbean? And we all know Hollywood is always right Anyway this whole case is appalling. Obviously pro-Aborigines (like me) will point out the Western influences, like the introduction of alcohol, the whole 'stolen generation' fiasco, social darwinism and the many many legislative powers enacted upon them as a detriment to their prosperity.Originally posted by laurence82:yah yah

Ah Hao probably should have be given 20 years. The investigation was not conclusive. It was all circumstantial evidence, could'nt be proved beyond a reasonable doubt... but that's the law of Singapore.Originally posted by iveco:Look here, the lenient sentence meted out is currently the subject of a probe by QLD attorney-general.
BTW, if you have followed Andrew Mallard's adventures, you would think he is one hell of a lucky bastard. Our darling Ah Hao damn sway kena the noose.
2.As i expect, many will defense Oz.Originally posted by fymk:Above was taken out of the report.
They even had to remove the girl from the community. So unless Lionnoisy can come up with the court transcript - she/he shouldn't be yapping about it gleefully .
If the judge gave the maximum sentence - the likely card played by some of the guilty indigenous parties are racism and insensitivity to "cultural beliefs" of the indigenous people.
The intervention in NT to prevent sexual abuse in communities even had a few people here quoting it as " a form of racism" .
The judge gave the minimum sentence - so now the general community in the affected area and Australia are not happy . The PM is looking into it . The judge has to answer for it now and I doubt answering to the PM and the Attorney General is any fun .

Queensland Attorney-General Kerry Shine says he will appeal the sentences given to nine males who gang-raped a 10-year-old girl in 2005...2.
Judge Bradley said from her Cairns home yesterday that she considered the sentences "appropriate" in the case because they were the penalties asked for by the Crown prosecutor.

A DRUG dealer who helped uncover high-level police corruption and turned on mates in the Melbourne underworld, including Tony Mokbel, has allegedly been operating a major international trafficking operation while on the run from Australia for three years.
The 40-year-old, known as Supergrass after he became a top police informant at the height of the Melbourne gangland war, was released from jail and allowed to travel overseas to escape underworld retribution.
But the man, whose name is suppressed, reneged on a deal with authorities to return to testify against Mokbel and was nabbed in Amsterdam on Wednesday running what police allege was a cocaine racket across three continents. Supergrass fears his life is in danger in Australia, but police yesterday said they would move to extradite him after Dutch police arrested him trying to board a plane on a false passport. ...
