Will it be more of a benefit or disadvantage?

No, for the population figures. If a person don't intend to have children, may it be due to high living cost or what-so-ever reasons, no one can force them to procreate. -

As far as I can tell there are no significant disadvantages to allowing same sex marriages.
OTOH, it would mean alot to committed samesex couples if their relationship can be recognised by law. -

its just so damn wrong. the happiness or human rights argument doesnt apply. Or else robbers would fight for the right to kill and bad singers will fight for the right to turn up the karaokae at night to the displeasure of their neighbours.
Similiarly, gay couples will tear the social fabric of our nation and soon ppl will think that its fine and normal to engage in same sex marriage.
If the gays want to carry out their own pivate activites, so be in. just dont let it be open to the public so as to not create a wrong impression/ -

Also, its not entirely gay couples who tear the social fabric of our nation. What about those who engage in casual sex? those who visits prostitutes? those who have are having an affair? Are they considered the role models of our nation that we dont consider them spoiling our nation's image?
Its just the recognition of being together and not the approval of having casual sex with some one of the same sex. Its 2 different issue. -

should gay marriages be allowed, its as good as saying that society accepts gay marraiages and gay sex. what would the young think? that it is alright to find a partner of the same sex? When young kids play marraige in preschool or school, it is because of the social trend. I dont think they actually know what love is at that tender age.
Would you like to see young kids playing gay, just because society allows it? They would then grow up thinking that it is alright to be gay and vola. in no time, we have a gay society.

Talking about this subject.. I was banned in an American Forum for being childish.. in just 3 post for disagreeing .. not exactly about Gay marriage but gays adopting a boy, Since Gay marriage is already legal there.
1) I quote that I disagreed that gay couple should be allowed to adopt a boy.
2) I quote that having a gay parents, being immediate peers, would influence the confused child, and chances is high that he will be a gay in the future.
3) I believe that a child can nurtured either way, and will be exposed to Necessarily.
For that, I got my mother cursed as a whore, then my mfather and brother cursed as a whore, labelled a troll, called an idiot and childish, and finally banned by the MOD. -
