Should Singapore legalise same sex marriage?

Will it be more of a benefit or disadvantage?

Would it cause chaos or upset the population figures?

life's not so simple. yeah, everyone deserve happiness. but not everyone can be happy. =)Originally posted by dreameryb:One thing for sure: Every human being deserves the right to be happy. Shame on those who try to take away such rights from their fellow human beings.
Question 1 and 2 debate has been ongoing, and neither seems to agree with each other. Not going to write on this again...Originally posted by TYING:Currently, same sex marriage are being recognise in the following countries: Belgium, Canada, Netherlands, Spain, U.S. state of Massachusetts.

Some people are happy when killing each other. So that means it has to be legalized as well?Originally posted by dreameryb:One thing for sure: Every human being deserves the right to be happy. Shame on those who try to take away such rights from their fellow human beings.
How wrong can it go? It has been scientifically proven that being a homosexual can very well be due to genes too.Originally posted by OO_OO_OO:Should Same Sex Marriage Be Allowed In Singapore?
NO!
NO!!
AND NO!!!
its just so damn wrong. the happiness or human rights argument doesnt apply. Or else robbers would fight for the right to kill and bad singers will fight for the right to turn up the karaokae at night to the displeasure of their neighbours.
Similiarly, gay couples will tear the social fabric of our nation and soon ppl will think that its fine and normal to engage in same sex marriage.
If the gays want to carry out their own pivate activites, so be in. just dont let it be open to the public so as to not create a wrong impression/
thats exactly the reason why prostitution isnt allowed and casual isnt condoned.Originally posted by TYING:How wrong can it go? It has been scientifically proven that being a homosexual can very well be due to genes too.
Also, its not entirely gay couples who tear the social fabric of our nation. What about those who engage in casual sex? those who visits prostitutes? those who have are having an affair? Are they considered the role models of our nation that we dont consider them spoiling our nation's image?
Its just the recognition of being together and not the approval of having casual sex with some one of the same sex. Its 2 different issue.
you guessed it rightOriginally posted by dreameryb:You must be a guy then.
